Fairfield is a spacious top-floor apartment built as an addition to a Lakeland residence and set in several acres of wooded hillside grounds which are visited by a wide variety of birds, deer, badgers and red squirrels.

The kitchen and bathroom were completely refurbished for 2008. With new fitted carpets and oak furniture throughout, Fairfield provides up-to-date, comfortable and warm accommodation at any time of the year. The dual aspect double-glazed windows give the rooms a sunny and airy feel.

There are beautiful high and low level walks to be done from the door - no need to take the car - Alcock Tarn, Loughrigg, Fairfield and The Rydal Round are all to hand. Grasmere village, with its many shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries, and Dove Cottage, where Wordsworth lived, are easily reached on foot just down the hill.

If you are looking for a quiet retreat for two, Fairfield makes a wonderful holiday base with its splendid lake views and ever-changing colours - a joy in any season.

Accommodation: The front door is reached by an ascending path and steps from the car park. Entrance hall with cupboard for your outdoor gear. Corner sunny sitting room has two windows, one with lake view, and includes flat screen TV, DVD, video, electric 'living flame' fire and music system. The attractive, well-equipped dining kitchen also has a view of the lake from one of the windows.

Large corner bedroom with zip link super king-size bed (can be made as two singles on request), which has double aspect windows and good views. Spacious fully tiled bathroom (electric shower over the wider 'space' bath, basin and wc, heated towel rail).

Comfortable contemporary co-ordinated furnishings are complemented by many personal touches including local guidebooks, maps, books, games, CDs, DVDs and videos to create a real home from home feeling. The perfect place to relax after a day's walking on the fells.

Outside: The gardens and grounds are available for your use with hidden pathways, stream and pond and a host of seasonal daffodils and rhododendrons. Garden chairs and table can be taken out of doors. Named space for one car.
