Entertainment

After that busy day in the fresh air you may still be looking for something to do. Here are a few suggestions for your evening entertainment...

Theatre by the Lake, Keswick
Zeffirellis Cinema and Pizzeria, Ambleside
Pub Nights
Local pubs offer a warm welcome to visitors with programmes of entertainment including live jazz or folk music, quiz nights and big-screen sports events. Watch local adverts during your stay for information.

Cinema and Theatre
Even though the area is very small we are well-served with live theatre especially in the season - look out for varied programmes at The Old Laundry Theatre Autumn Festival, Bowness, The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, which we are delighted to be associated with through sponsorship.

Local theatre companies are worth looking out for and the latest films are always on offer at cinemas in Bowness, Ambleside and Keswick. It's also worth checking up on programmes of outdoor performances of various types which may be advertised locally during your stay.

Music
Locally advertised music programmes may include recitals by visiting artistes. The Lake District Summer Music Festival is held in August at a variety of venues throughout the area.

Lake Cruises
Evening cruises are often available on the larger lakes with jazz cruises being particular popular on Windermere during the season. Programmes are advertised locally and through tourist information centres or at the pier heads on Derwentwater or Windermere.
