Situated at the foot of the fells, this Georgian cottage, which is a wing of the 16th century Grade I listed building Hartsop Hall, is owned by the National Trust, whose tenants live in the Hall and farm the surrounding 3,000 acres. At the end of a ¼ mile drive, the setting is idyllic with majestic views on all sides.

This is a walkers' paradise with footpaths passing the door to the high fells including Dove Crag, Hart Crag, Fairfield and St Sunday Crag and across the valley to Hayeswater and up onto the High Street ridge. Those of you wishing to tour the area by car will find many opportunities for visits to all parts of the National Park and with Ullswater just a short drive away, you can enjoy cruises on one of Lakeland's most beautiful lakes.

Accommodation: Simply but comfortably furnished, this is an ideal 'walkers property'. On the ground floor there is a large, well-equipped, newly fitted kitchen with pine table (seats six) and open log fire. Lounge with three piece suite and open fire. Colour TV (reception variable). New ground floor single bedroom and shower room (shower, basin and wc).

On the first floor there are three bedrooms, two doubles with 5' beds, one with views to Caudale and Kirkstone. One twin bedroom with zip-link bed (please specify at the time of booking). Three-piece bathroom. Fitted carpets.

Outside: Garden suitable for sitting out or barbecues. Parking immediately to rear of property.

N.B. PETS: As the farm relies on its working dogs, all visitors' dogs must have a current Parvo Virus certificate and the owners will not accept Alsatians or Red Setters.
