Situated in an elevated position in a beautiful area to the south of Bowness town with a sunny outlook and seasonal views over Lake Windermere and the fells, Crowmire Wood is a spacious and substantial Lakeland property, which has been in the same family for many years and it has been recently partly refurbished with new bathrooms and new decoration.

The location is ideal for those wanting to be 'just out of it' but at the same time the busy town of Bowness with its selection of shops and good restaurants is only a short drive away. There are ample opportunities for visits to all parts of the Lake District, cruises on England's largest lake, and lovely walks to be enjoyed on the western shores of the lake.

Accommodation: Reached up a long private drive the entrance is via a side door into a small rear hall which is attached to the kitchen. Good sized fitted kitchen in natural woods leads into the family games room with pool table and open fire (TV and video). Utility room for storing walking gear. The main hallway has a door to the garden and its own small sitting area.

The focal point of the generous sized lounge is the open fire with a marble fireplace and large windows (TV, DVD and video). From the lounge there is access to a small sun room with door to garden. Separate dining room and patio area.

There are four bedrooms - a ground floor double room with newly fitted en-suite (bath, basin, wc). Downstairs wc with basin. Stairs lead to a long landing. There are two spacious upstairs double rooms and a further twin with wash basin. The master double is surprisingly large having a pleasant and bright feel and an archway to a substantial en­suite bathroom with a corner bath, washbasin and wc. The second double with king-size bed and wash basin, is also very spacious. Bathroom (bath with shower over, basin). Separate wc with hand basin. Fitted carpets.

The furnishings are comfortable in a fairly traditional style with some antique pieces; several rooms have period cornices and moulded ceilings. This is a much loved family property with a 'lived in' feel - very much home from home and ideal for a holiday at any time of the year. There are delightful outlooks from most windows with many mature trees and seasonal views of the lake.

Outside: Crowmire Wood stands in its own extensive mature garden, on several levels with steps and pathways, and a large lawn area bordered by mature shrubs and trees. It also has two ponds. There is a patio area for sitting out. Parking for three or four cars.
