This picturesque character cottage lies in the pretty Lakeland village of Braithwaite near Keswick. With two good pubs, and another good restaurant in the village there is ample choice for eating out without using the car whilst the village has a little shop for basics and there is an excellent supermarket in Keswick about two miles away.
Burnside Cottage lends itself perfectly to a family holiday in any season. Numerous walks start from the door to the fells around including Causey Pike and Grisedale Pike whilst for easier days you could meander along the country lanes in the beautiful Newlands and Coledale Valleys. Keswick has live theatre throughout the year, plus lake cruises and boat hire to keep all members of the party happy.
Accommodation: The cottage is one of the oldest in the village and retains many character features. Ground floor entrance through utility/boot room into the welcoming dining/kitchen. Central hallway has downstairs shower room off. Door from the hall through to the comfy sitting room (TV, DVD, CD player, open fire).
A feature stone spiral staircase leads to the first floor where there are four good bedrooms - the spacious master double has a French window opening onto a balcony with views to the fells; a second smaller double; spacious twin and a further smaller room with adult bunks. House bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and wc.
The cottage is comfortably furnished throughout with slate floors in the hall, kitchen and utility rooms. Fitted carpets in lounge, stairs and all the bedrooms.
Outside: The enclosed garden is a particular feature with mature trees, shrubs, lawn and places to sit outside, and a pretty stream (fenced) which babbles through the middle of the garden and joins the larger stream outside the perimeter fence. Bikes can be stored in the summer house. There is private parking for one large or two small cars in the driveway at the front of the property.
