Our extensive knowledge of The Lake District allows you to make the most of your day out. Activities range from half-day to multi-day adventures or try a multi-adventure day. Prices start from £15 per person per half-day. We are also AALA licensed and happy to take unaccompanied children.

R & L Adventures
Feeling adventurous? For the bold or the timid,
for the individual or the family group, R & L Adventures have something
to fit your requirements.
The Lake District has much more to offer than the obvious fell walking and with qualified instructors available you can really test your skills or try out a completely new sport. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to try - such as ghyll scrambling, rock climbing, pot holing, abseiling, canoeing, orienteering or winter mountaineering. R & L Adventures offers a varied programme for all members of your party.
Based in Broughton Mills, Neil Collier and Linda Rutland, who are both experienced mountain leaders, are keen to work with our Heart of the Lakes' clients to make your holiday really memorable.
Tuition fees are £80 for half a day for 4 persons or £120 for a full day for 4 persons.

Mountain Biking
Use your Heart of the Lakes Guest Card to claim discounts
on cycle hire from Ghyllside Cycles, based in Ambleside - they will supply
you with quality equipment plus free use of helmets, tool kit and route advice.
Bikes are available for all ages including child trailer if required.

Grizedale Forest
Close by the village of Satterthwaite, Grizedale Forest Park
offers a fine selection of outdoor activities for all the family plus an informative
visitor centre and café - cycling, walking, bird and wildlife watching,
picnic spots, sculpture trails - will keep everyone entertained.
For high level adventure try Go Ape - one of only three similar aerial challenges in the country - a must for older children and adults.
